We're never surprised when Jack White and Third Man Records unleash a limited-edition vinyl upon us, and we never would have thought that the Nashville-based record company would team up with the Detroit Tigers for a special release.

The special 7-inch release is being pressed in classic Detroit Tigers blue and orange and features a new song appropriately called "Strike Out" and features Third Man Records artists Brendan Benson (the Raconteurs), Ben Blackwell (the Dirtbombs), Dominic Davis, and Olivia Jean. The single was cut at White's Nashville studio and is inspired by an old game Benson's father would play in Southwest Detroit called "Strike Out."

The other side of the vinyl features a very special and rare interview that White did with Tigers legend and 1984 World Series Champion Kirk Gibson. White, who once threw out the opening pitch at a Tigers Game in 2014 and huge baseball fan himself, must have been thrilled to interview a MLB star like Gibson.
The only way you get your hands on this special vinyl is if you purchase a ticket to the Tigers' Sept. 24 game against the Minnesota Twins at Comerica Park. A portion of the proceeds from the vinyl and ticket sales will go to the Kirk Gibson foundation and the Detroit Tigers Foundation.

Interestingly enough, Tigers pitcher Daniel Norris took the photos for the album artwork. His work is pretty great and you can see more of it here.
