Speaking of arsons ... the Forest Arms building, heavily damaged by a fire in 2008, is undergoing renovations and if all goes according to plan it should see a new musical instrument store among its tenants. Third Wave Music is in the midst of a fundraising campaign to bring a store to the space, which culminates with an event at the UFO Factory on Nov. 7.

The event includes performances by Passalacqua, Mama Roux, Gabriel Brass Band, and Little Animal, and DJ sets by Ice Cold Chrissy and Sisteranna. Food will be provided by Gabriel Hall, and there will also be giveaway prizes from Cass Café, Supinos Pizza, Third Wave Music, B. Nektar, and more.

Additionally, there’s a chance to own one of a kind art made out of old guitars, created by local artists like Davin Brainard, Kara Meister, Dion Fischer, Rico Africa, and many others.

Admission is just $5. Check out the fundraising campaign page here. The event starts at 7 p.m. on Nov. 7 at the UFO Factory, located at 2110 Trumbull Street, Detroit.
