Most of us have day jobs and boss figures who leer at us if we're seen wearing headphones in our cubicles.
The exciting/refreshing thing of it all is -this will be many of our "first-time's" seeing/hearing these bands.
The new noise.
So, today and tomorrow...Might I suggest throwing some digital darts at the wall of the Online Schedule, following that band through to their respective page, be it reverb or bandcamp or what have you...and drinking in some samples. Maybe you spit it right back out or maybe you get drunk on a new favorite.

Wednesday 2/29 - 9:40 - Magic Stick
The Detroit Pleasure Society - This is a brand new band that still remains a mystery -if only weighed by their lack of streamable songs and viewable photos (though there's some floating around the status-stratospheres of Facebook). What to expect? Only what we can mine from profile pages - Authentic Fats Wallerian Dixie Jazz from an octet bolstered with blustery brass - from tubas to trumpets - perhaps a less rambunctious/mischievious incarnation (or extension-upon) our Detroit Party Marching Band??
Thursday 3/1 - 10:40 - Baker's Street Car
Butterwolf - I couldn't help presupposing that this might be hip-hop...since I had to initially get past the urge to put Peanut in front of their name... Nope... atmospheric, polyrhythmic, multi-layered, dischordant and melodic, dreamy drifts and driving plods - 11-minute space-rock jams. Dive in....(Butterwolf - "Accidentally In Canada" )
Thursday 3/1 - 9:00 - Jean's
Zombie Jesus & the Chocolate Sunshine Band - How can you go wrong with such a deliciously blasphemous name? A clattery sort of bleached-out folk thing that plays with neo-psychedelia with a traipsing sort of capricious manner, putting jaunty rhythms and a nice bit of twang underneath sing/speaky lyrics that chart some pretty dark terrain.
Thursday 3/1 - 12:00 - Painted Lady
The Vatican... ...you see how easy you can get spun around in this blurring set of bands? I didn't realize this was George Morris' new thing until just yesterday... ...Morris, most of you indie-digging musicheads will remember from being the fuzz-maned, wispy-voiced, straight-out-of-1972-glammed-out-glory singer/guitarist from the defunct rock quartet The Satin Peaches. You'll recognize the other faces and sleek shiny guitar-clang sensibilities from past Detroit acts like Millions of Brazilians... The single here's a mellower, spacey soar, a come-down drive-around-town sort of track for when the moon's high and eye-lids are getting low, creaking our way back to the car to flick away the grime wrought from the rock club's whirl.
