On Saturday, Ferndale's Mongers' Provisions is hosting a grand opening party for its new Cass Corridor store.

The chocolate and cheese shop launched its first small location in Ferndale in 2017, stocking a range of goods made by the nation's best cheese, salami, and chocolate producers. Earlier this year, it announced a new Detroit store that will offer "an expansive array of cheese, chocolate, charcuterie and accompaniments" in a much larger 1,028-square-foot-space.

Beyond chocolate, cheese, and meats, the shop will also offer a wide selection of complementary products like olive oils, jam, olives, dried fruit, cheese knives, savory cheesecakes, boards and platters, and frozen meats from Farm Field Table, with whom the company currently shares retail space in Ferndale. Beyond food, Mongers' will stock books on cheese and chocolate, and host interactive, guided tastings, and educational classes.

The new store is at 4240 Cass Ave. Ste. 111. It will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday; and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
