Local food central — It's not often you get a lot of Detroit's small, local food vendors under one roof, but if you do, chances it's at the annual Detroit Holiday Food Bazaar. This third iteration of the successful event will feature dozens of Detroit-area food producers, a few of them featured in this issue. The list includes Perkins Pickles, Gang of Pour, Pete's Chocolates, Beau Bien, Simply Suzanne, McClure's Pickles, Porktown Sausage, Great Lakes Coffee Roasting, Motown Freedom Bakery and many more. What's popping — We've written about how St. Cece's opened its kitchen to chef Adam Verville, who now serves a locally oriented menu there. Well, they're already switching it up. For one night, St. Cece's will host a pop-up restaurant, with Verville and guest Garrett MacLean dreaming up a vegan and vegetarian menu for an event dubbed "Winner Winner Vegan Dinner!" Details at press time were still sketchy, but all food will be cash-only that night, as all money goes back to the pop-up crew.
