Bacardi Superior

Before 1862, the year Don Facundo reinvented rum, the spirit was known for being harsh, crude, and unrefined. It's what pirates drink, after all. It took Facundo 10 years to perfect the new kind of rum that Bacardi would swiftly become known for creating.

Well over a century later Bacardi is still known for its subtle, dry flavor. Tasting notes include vanilla and almond, which come from its time spent aging in white oak barrels. It's smoothness makes it an apt spirit to enjoy in a summer cocktail, like the classic mojito.

Mojito

2 parts Bacardi Superior rum

4 lime wedges

12 fresh mint leaves

1 part soda water

1 sprig fresh mint to garnish

Directions

Muddle together limes and sugar, bruise mint leaves, drop them into the glass. Fill glass halfway with ice, add Bacardi Superior rum and stir. Top with ice, soda, and a sprig of mint.
