Ferndale's craft beer store 8 Degrees Plato Beer Company will close at the end of the year.

Owner Tim Costello made the announcement in a Facebook post on Saturday, writing that he and his wife Brigid made the decision "after many sleepless nights and anxious days." The store will assume normal business hours until Dec. 31.

"As rewarding as owning and operating one store is, we now find ourselves with three, which means triple the rewards but the downside of triple the stress," Costello writes.  "There are still things that Brigid and myself want to accomplish as responsible business owners, members of our communities and more importantly as a couple for each other. We are looking forward to being able to do just that."

The three businesses Costello refers to are the company's Midtown Detroit location and Urbanum, a recently opened retail store in Detroit's New Center. Both will remain open.

"There will be someone pretty cool taking on the space and it will have beer involved," Costello writes. "I am committed to making sure that they are set up and ready to go when the time is right."

The Facebook post is below. 8 Degrees Plato's Ferndale store is located at 611 W. Nine Mile Rd, Ferndale.
