With Jollibee opening its first location in Michigan this weekend, Jan. 12-14, the Philippines-based fast-food chain expects high traffic, long lines, and lots of fun.
For people who have not been to a Jollibee grand opening before, Nick Bedell, marketing director for Jollibee North America, says it’s “like a party.”
“It’s a lot of fun, people will have signs and decorations and camp out, and then celebrate when they receive their food,” he adds. “We’ve set up tents outside so that the lines will be shielded somewhat from the weather. It is a double drive-thru, so now, and in the future, that should help make Jollibee more convenient for people.”
While the new Jollibee’s menu will be semi-limited for now, the location is still offering fan favorites including Chickenjoy fried chicken, Jolly Spaghetti, and peach mango pie. We tried the chicken sandwiches, baked mac and cheese, and the mashed potatoes and gravy, all of which had a great unique flavor. The spicy chicken sandwich was the best, topped with sriracha mayo and fresh jalapeños. Plus, the signature pineapple quencher drink paired very well with the meal.
Jollibee is now open seven days a week from 9 a.m.-10 p.m. at 44945 Woodridge Dr., Sterling Heights. Throughout this weekend, the new eatery will be giving the first 100 customers each day a gift. Before you visit, here’s a sneak peek.
