For centuries, fortune-tellers from all over the world have used palm reading to discern someone’s character and future. We all know Michigan’s Lower Peninsula forms the familiar shape of a hand, and if you squint hard enough, the Upper Peninsula does too (Squint. Harder. Keep squinting.)
Can Michigan be read, then, just like a palm? And if so, what can we learn about our state? We toyed briefly with the idea of walking over to the palm readers at Boston Tea Room in Ferndale with a map of Michigan to see what they could divine, but wisely chickened out. Instead, we decided to try our own hand at the art of palmistry. Here goes nothing...
