We awoke to a long email from our friends at the esteemed Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts, including both the highlights of their upcoming season going well into the new year, and the announcement that they've got a new program where you can see five shows in the dance, family and world categories for only $99. As you can see, it's a diverse lineup that helps to bring world-class talent to Detroit, at the same time highlighting some of Detroit's finest performers, while also engaging in educational outreach.

Buy a 5-performance Dance Series ticket for $99!
Our Contemporary Dance Series is highlighted this year by China’s Shen Wei Dance Arts. Shen Wei was the choreographer of some of the most breathtaking moments from the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, and his use of human movement and theatrical effects make this a don’t-miss event. The always eye-popping MOMIX makes its return, as does our yearly collaboration with Complexions Contemporary Dance, and the wildly creative synergy of our ‘313 Choreography Expo Series, which this year explores the dance relationships between Detroit and Los Angeles, so it’s ‘313 To The 213’. Alonzo King LINES Ballet fills out our quintet of innovative and exhilarating contemporary dance events.

Music Hall has established itself as Southeast Michigan’s leading presenter of contemporary dance. We’re committed not only to bringing cutting-edge work to our stage, but to strengthening our region’s connection to the field’s hottest choreographers by offering master classes and lecture demonstrations. Our area’s dance students and next generation of stars deserve no less!

Or our Family Series for $99…
We’ll stack up our children’s programming against any in the country – classic storybooks brought to life on the stage, guaranteed to inspire a lifelong love of the performing arts and bring the whole family together. Imagination Movers from Disney is back, along with timeless preschool favorites Goodnight Moon and the Runaway Bunny, plus new programs such as The Big Friendly Giant and Moon Mouse. We’re also excited for the new presentation from the spellbinding Lightwire Theater, whose electroluminescent creations now include “A Very Electric Christmas”.

Then there’s our World Culture Series – also $99.
We are proud once again to bring Detroit a taste of world culture in both music and dance, with showstoppers like the National Acrobats of the People’s Republic of China and Compania Flamenca Jose Porcel. The Polish Baltic Philharmonic Orchestra, founded in 1945 on the heels of postwar Polish independence, is the largest music institution in northern Poland, and we’ll again welcome The Band of the Royal Marines with The Pipes, Drums and Highland Dancers – which is sure to bring out the Scot in you. The Russian National Ballet Theatre double header caps our trip around the performing arts world – and all 5 for only $99!

Other notable shows in new season is the stage musical, Dream Girls starring En Vogue and Johnny Gill, (October 1-4) will be a season highlight. Adding in our dear friends Hugh Masekela, Larry Willis and Jean Luc Ponty (Nov 6th) , who will both return to Music Hall with their own genre-bending interpretations of jazz, and we have an eclectic and international 2015-2016 season to be excited about.
