Stories abound about the Corktown Inn on Trumbull Avenue, with several infamous amenities, like a vending machine that dispenses fresh underwear. But the hotel enters a new era in 2015, Model D reports, with a new owner plans to shed its image of the past and branch out as the Corktown Hotel. 

The hotel's new director of sales tells Model D the new owner wants to tackle the boutique market, "meaning that each floor and even each room could be different from one another." Three rooms are already available to rent, the website says. 

In addition to re-designing the rooms, Daye says that a number of other improvements are planned for the site. New landscaping will better expose the hotel to the street. An old restaurant space will be revived. Workout facilities will be added. A courtyard will be spruced up and there's also mention of a green roof.

You may recall, the hotel was patrolled by a dummy security. That'll no longer be the case, Model D says. Check out more here
