In case you missed it, Patti Smith returned to Cleveland on Saturday to induct Lou Reed into the the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, giving posthumous honors to Reed for his solo work. Smith had previously inducted Reed into the Hall in 1996 for his work with the Velvet Underground.

"It was a complex friendship, sometimes antagonistic and sometimes sweet," Smith said. "Lou would sometimes emerge from the shadows at CBGBs. If I did something good, he would praise me. If I made a false move, he would break it down."
