Be still our cold, black, and infinite hearts — Nine Inch Nails is touring and it might just be “The Perfect Drug” for times like these.

For 30 years, NIN has been the voice of the anti-band, with a seething industrial sound and contentious worldview. Thankfully, frontguy and composer Trent Reznor has decided to get the gang back together and will perform, arguably, the most intimate Detroit show since peddling The Downward Spiral at the State Theater in 1994. In pre-dotcom fashion, NIN gave fans the rare opportunity to wait in a physical line for tickets before making them available online, to stick it to the ticketing man.

Nine Inch Nails will perform at 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 22 and Tuesday, Oct. 23 at the Fox Theatre; 2211 Woodward Ave., Detroit; 313-471-3200; 313presents.com; Tickets start at $75+.
