With the resurgence of vinyl records in the last few years it's no surprise that a conference totally dedicated to the spinning records would emerge. Or that it would be held in Detroit.

That conference is called Making Vinyl, and it is happening at the Westin Book Cadillac Hotel on Nov. 6-7.

One man who has been a key part in pressing more vinyl and making it more accessible has been Detroit's Jack White, who is set to give a keynote speech during the conference.

White elevated the vinyl pressing scene in Detroit when he opened Third Man Records Pressing in February in Detroit, which conference goers will get to tour on the second day of the conference.

“Jack White is the perfect keynoter for ‘Making Vinyl’ because he knows first-hand what it takes to set up a new vinyl factory,” Bryan Ekus, president of Colonial Purchasing Co-op, the producer of Making Vinyl, says in a statement.

Along with White's keynote speech on Nov. 6, the conference will also offer panel discussions about pressing vinyl and the recording music industry. Many folks who work behind the scenes at White's Third Man Records will be on hand to ask questions.

Other record labels and vinyl-heads will be in attendance like Memphis Record Pressing, Furnace Record Mfg. (Virginia), Quality Record Pressing (Kansas), Sun Press Vinyl (Florida), Cascade (Oregon), and Micro Forum.
