A stunning bit of news this – not only is Metallica bringing its stellar Orion Fest to Detroit but the Bay Area thrash metal giants are actually coming into the city and planning to plant the festival on Belle Isle, rather than the DTE Energy Music Theater (or somewhere like that).
Fans of all styles of music and art (this is not solely a metal festival – look at last year’s bill) should rejoice, as should Detroit businesses. People will travel from all over the world for this event. Those little restaurants on Jefferson are all going to be packed.
Who would have thunk it? Metallica might well be the band to save Detroit. More info here.
