Do you smell that? A westward wind carries the scent of fried dough and fruity filling. You can almost feel the powdered sugar on your fingertips. The call of a Polish eagle rings through the streets of Hamtramck and your stomach replies with a growl.

It is almost time for Paczki Day, or Fat Tuesday if you’re Catholic, or Mardi Gras if you’re French, or “cheat day” if you’re on a diet.

Paczki Day is March 5. Check back as we feature some popular and exotic Paczki in the coming weeks.
