Detroit is celebrating its big 3-1-7 on Tuesday, and one ice cream company is ready to pay homage in the form of free sweet treats.
To commemorate the anniversary of the city's founding in 1701, Michigan-based confectioner Hudsonville Ice Cream will be doling out free ice cream at Cadillac Square. The event will run from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., offering a break from the weekday blahs with a sugary recess. And Hudsonville will be giving away more than just dessert, with celebrity scoopers and ticket raffles for prizes (such as Cedar Point tickets).
More information is available at the
event's official Facebook page.
