Detroit ICO Presents: An American Ascent!

Detroit Inspiring Connections Outdoors is a volunteer program that works to connect diverse communities, particularly urban youth, with outdoor experiences. We are excited to feature a screening of An American Ascent as part of our upcoming fundraiser. This film celebrates African American contributions to outdoor adventure while also exploring the lack of diversity that we often see in outdoor and environmental media. We are also pleased to host author, journalist, and producer James Mills at our event so that he can engage with attendees and discuss his deep connections to the expedition at the heart of this film.
