Greektown Tailgate

The Greektown Neighborhood Partnership is proud to host the Greektown Tailgate in celebration of the 2024 NFL Draft in Downtown Detroit. The free, three-day event runs from noon to midnight on Thursday through Saturday, April 25, 26 and 27, on Monroe Street between St. Antoine and Brush Streets. Over the course of three days, the Greektown Tailgate will include two blocks full of live music, sports viewing, games, food, drinks, and more!

The main stage at Monroe and St. Antoine Street will host 19 bands, with a variety of music genres including, Motown, Soul, R&B, Rock and Roll, and Country. The DJ Stage at Monroe and Beaubien will feature 12 local Detroit DJs and highlight Detroit’s electronic music and dance scene. The official line-up is attached to this press release as an addendum. The Greektown Tailgate will also have huge TV screens for sports viewing along with an emcee at the main stage. Attendees can also check out the new ESPN Bet or the Tito’s Handmade Vodka Airstream and lounge in their street activation or play a game of cornhole.

There will be several bars with specialty cocktails, beer, and wine in addition to several sponsor activations. We’re proud to feature Bud Light, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Crown Royal, Barefoot Wine, and Pepsi Products at our bars, in addition to many other options. With more than two dozen restaurants and cafes in Greektown, festival attendees can also enjoy a wide variety of Greek and American offerings, all within a few blocks. Ample open-air seating and shaded tables will be offered on Monroe Street. In addition to Greektown’s robust restaurant scene, there will be two food trucks at the Tailgate, Egg Roll Diva and Galindo’s Mexican.

Complementing the free Greektown Tailgate, Old Shillelagh and Firebird Tavern are also hosting outdoor celebrations and tent parties. Access to the official NFL Draft area is just a short three blocks walk away, and accessible at Cadillac Square along Randolph Street. The Detroit People Mover will be running 24 hours a day during the event and is free, with a station in the Greektown Tailgate footprint. The Q-Line along Woodward Avenue is also free, and will take patrons to downtown.

“The Greektown Tailgate will be the place to be during the NFL Draft and we’re proud to showcase Downtown Detroit for our many visitors from across the country,” said Athina Papas, Board Chair and President of the Greektown Neighborhood Partnership. “On behalf of the Greektown Neighborhood Partnership and Greektown business owners and families, I’d like to thank our sponsor partners whose support helps ensure the Greektown Tailgate’s success, including Hollywood Casino at Greektown, ESPN Bet, Bedrock, and Visit Detroit.”
