10 Michigan hard ciders to taste this fall

With summer leaving us and autumn looming in the distance, many beer drinkers like to switch from the Summer Shandy and Oberon to the yummy fall beers and the sweet taste of hard cider. It's practically alcoholic apple juice, and that is why we love it so. Here are a few hard ciders that are brewed here in Michigan, and are absolutely delicious.

Beard Bender
6.5% ABV
Beard Bender comes from Blake's Hard Cider Co. in Armada, MI. This is a dryer cider, so if you're not a fan of the sweet stuff, this one is for you.

El Chavo
6.5% ABV
El Chavo also comes from Blake's. The cider is a lighter color, but it has some heat packed into it making it for a really interesting taste. It is sweet and spicy all at the same time.

Flannel Mouth
6.5% ABV
This is the original hard cider from Blake's. Just a classic hard cider: sweet enough to make you want more and tart enough to make you pucker just the slightest.

Octorock
6.3% ABV
Octorock is a semi-sweet cider so it won't be too much for your tongue if you're not a fan of sweet ciders. It has a smooth finish and is made from Greening Apples.

Phuzz
6.9% ABV
Phuzz is not only brewed with apples, but this semi-sweet cider also has some peaches in it. Plus, it has a decently high ABV that will have you feeling pretty good.

Red Brick Hard Cider
6.5% ABV
Coming to you from the Petoskey Brewing Company, Red Brick Hard Cider has a little bit of cinnamon spice added to this semi-sweet brew.

Sparkleberry
8.3% ABV
So this one technically isn't a hard cider, but it's a yummy fruit ale that we couldn't help but put on the list. Originally brewed for the 2013 Pride in Kalamazoo, Sparkleberry has become famous with Bell's. A mix of raspberry, this ale is sweet and fruity just like a traditional hard cider.

Wakefire also comes from Blake's, and is infused with Michigan-grown cherries and orange peel. It's the perfect end of the summer cider to enjoy around a beautiful campfire.

This new brew from Blake's is perfect for the fall: it is infused with apples, cranberries, and blood orange to give you an eclectic taste for a cider. Just add some cinnamon-sugar donuts and you are set.
