Fire-headed Von Bondies guitarist Marcie Bolen is the (somewhat) pleased new owner of a 1989 Cadillac Eldorado convertible. Bolen scored it on Eight Mile Road three weeks ago — for a mere $900. Awesome. But then the rear tire blew. And the gas tank began to leak.

“I’ve wanted a Cadillac since I was a kid. Now I have one and it’s starting to fall apart,” the beguiling Bolen says. While waiting for the Von Bondies new EP to hit this fall (followed by an album in spring), Bolen has kept her heart-rate up performing with hip-hop sensation Esquire, and doing a punkabilly mash-up with Birmingham, Ala., native Taylor Hollingsworth.
