From the twin moons of Tatooine
To the ice plains of Hoth
I will follow you
O, Princess Amidala
We shall travel to Couriscant
And profess our love
Before Yoda and the Jedi Council
In the Gungin ceremony of love
On your home planet of Naboo
For all the world to see
We shall be wed
And may all the planets
Join in celebration
Just as they did
When the Empire was crushed …

Laura’s Bush, a political satire playing at 1515 Broadway about a librarian and a prostitute who join forces to rescue the First Lady, has received such a positive reception that its run has been extended to Oct. 16 with 10:30 shows Thursday through Saturday. The events will include a performance by experimental musician Frank Pahl and a staged reading of new work by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Tony Kushner. Proceeds go to MoveOn.org, that irascible anti-Bush and pro-thinking group doing awareness events across the country. Tickets are $15 or $10 with student ID; Thursday is “pay what you can.” For reservations, call 313-965-1515.
