Here's a rare chance to catch one of the key maestros of the sound of NYC in the 1980s. Martin Bisi recorded Sonic Youth, Swans, Dresden Dolls, Cop Shoot Cop, John Zorn, Afrika Bambaataa, Material/Bill Laswell, Boredoms, Herbie Hancock’s "Rockit," White Zombie, Foetus, Helmet, Unsane, Serena Maneesh, US Maple, Boss Hog,and countless others at his BC Studio, which was set up with help from Brian Eno.
So he is playing here with his killer band, which features members Ernest Anderson (bass), Jim Sykes on drums (Invisible Things), and Genevieve Kammel on viola, keys and voice (Lauds). The show is actually a benefit for Suck It Suicide, a super worthy non-profit. The shindig starts at 8 p.m. and costs $10.
