Off the beaten path, but well worth the extra mileage, lies a music lover’s El Dorado (the city of gold, not the Cadillac) disguised on the outside as an unassuming Cass Corridor watering hole. Step through the doors, though, into the former drag bar turned intimate, eclectic aural haven. Proprietor Neil Yee programs bills he finds amusing, interesting or adventurous and his instincts are rarely wrong. The low stage, low ceilings, glitter decor and enormous beer (and Faygo) selection create a clubhouse vibe between bands and audiences. A well-lit, guarded parking lot is an added bonus.
