City Slang: Woodman tricks Detroit with some treats

Frank Woodman of local folk-punks Woodman will resurrect his Halloween cover band for a traditional series of shows around the area.

According to Frank, “The band consists of Myself, John "Hentch" Szymanski from the Hentchmen and SSM, Alex Glendening from the Decks and Deadbeat Beat and a dude named TJ Grech. This year we have Jake Culkowski of the Detroit Cobras and Magic Jake and the Power Crystals on bass.

This will be the fourth year for the project. In 2008, the band did a set by the Sonics at the Zombie Dance Party. 2009 saw a Cramps set, 2010 was the Mummies and this year, the band will perform a set of Monks songs.

Woodman’s Halloween project can be seen at the following venues:
October 22rd at The Lager House in Detroit
October 25th at The Loving Touch in Ferndale
October 28th Fox news channel 2 at 10 in the morning
October 28th Crofoot Cheapy Creepy in Pontiac
October 29th The Park Bar in Detroit
