City Slang: The Orbitsuns get their bingo wings

Dec 5, 2011 at 7:15 am

Cow-punks the Orbitsuns, in association with On the Rocks Detroit, will be bringing “Drunken Bingo” to the New Way in Ferndale from Friday, December 30. The BB Owens Experience will also perform, and cover is $5.

According to a statement, “Once a month, On the Rocks Detroit hosts pub style Bingo with The Orbitsuns at the New Way Bar. Bingo is always free to play with bar admission. This month's Bingo players will vie for a variety of cool prizes including awesome swag from Lucky Monkey Tattoo, Showtime Clothing, national rock bands Disturbed and Nickelback (!) and much more!”

OK, let’s try to ignore the fact that there will be Disturbed and Nickelback prizes on offer. Two of the worst bands in the history of the world, absolutely, but the other prizes are far cooler and worth winning.

The Orbitsuns need no introduction, but just in case: “Fronted by charismatic lead singer Vinnie Dombroski (from the Platinum selling modern rock band Sponge), The Orbitsuns are a countrified hybrid of Johnny Cash, Hank Williams and Elvis with a twist of Detroit Rock City and sly humor. Favorites of the festival and bar circuit, The Orbitsuns have shared stages with numerous country luminaries including David Allen Coe, Blake Shelton, and Willie Nelson.” Click here to join the City Slang Turntable community!!!
