City Slang: Mayer Hawthorne to perform DJ set at Motors & Music Experience

Mayer Hawthorne and Detroit Lions captain Dominic Raiola will perform DJ sets at the Motor and Music Experience at the grounds of the Pontiac Silverdome on August 18.

Other local artists performing include Trick Trick, The High Strung and Dutch Pink. National acts on the bill include the Stone Temple Pilots, Shiny Toy Guns, and Ice T and Coco will make an appearance.

“Over 1.5 million individuals come from around the world to experience different events in the Southeastern Michigan on this particular weekend alone – many of these individuals spending varying amounts of time in appreciation of the automobiles cruising Woodward (just a few blocks from the Pontiac Silverdome). Organizers of the event feel this will an ideal stop with the exhibition of an array of motors on display all day. There will also be the Detroit Rises Showcase, a 3-dimensional musical, visual and physical platform engineered by Groove Box Studios, featuring The Detroit Circus.”
