Sure — there's Elm Street, Crystal Lake, and that dang Cabin in the Woods. But the lesser known and equally terrifying neighborhood is right in our own backyard. Each year Tillson Street, a 2 ½ block stretch in Romeo, is transformed into Terror on Tillson Street when dedicated homeowners come together to decorate nearly every one of the street's historic Civil War-era homes in an elaborate Halloween display. Tillson Street is far from amateur hour. Don't expect modest cotton ball spider webs and styrofoam headstones. Anticipate, rather, thoughtfully handcrafted vignettes that will spook the pants off of just about anyone. It is estimated that the street will draw over 20,000 visitors and 2,000 trick-or-treaters, over 75,000 pieces of candy are expected to be passed out, and since it's inception, the event has donated over $60,000 to local and national organizations.

Terror On Tillson Street main event will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 31, trick-or-treating is from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. road is closed on Oct. 31 and the street remains open to visitors throughout October; Tillson St., Romeo; terrorontillson.com; Event is free and family-friendly.
