After less than a year in business, the Downtown Detroit location of upscale retailer Kit and Ace has shuttered. In a statement made on their Facebook page this afternoon, the brand announced they would also close all stores in the United States, United Kingdom, and Australia. The brand's Canadian stores will remain open.

All closures are effective today. A source says employees were not previously notified that stores would be closing.
The store, located next to Warby Parker on Woodward Avenue in downtown Detroit, was the second Kit and Ace shop in Detroit. The brand started with a pop-up on Cass Avenue in Midtown before moving to permanent digs on Woodward.
