In the year following the end of Michelle Obama's radiant second term as First Lady of the United States, she has been all but still. While ferociously advocating for women's education, diversity in the workplace, and enforcing her youth-based health and fitness initiatives, she has also been writing a book.

Announced Wednesday, Obama will embark on a 10-city U.S. tour to promote her memoir, Becoming. The "Becoming: An Intimate Conversation with Michelle Obama" tour will launch in her hometown of Chicago on Nov. 13 and will visit Detroit's Little Caesars Arena on Tuesday, Dec. 11.

While an intimate conversation in a 15,000-plus capacity arena may appear to be difficult, over her lifetime Obama has taken on much larger tasks. The event will feature a selection of moderators as the 54-year-old author reflects on everything from childhood, the demands of being First Lady, the joys and challenges of motherhood, marriage, and more:

"It’s the story of my humdrum plainness, my tiny victories, my lasting bruises, my ordinary hopes, and worries. It’s the story of who I am, truly, and I’m proud of it — blemishes and all."

Tickets go on sale Friday, Sept. 21 at 10 a.m. and start at $29.50 with 10 percent of every ticket benefiting local charities, schools, and community organizations. They can be purchased here.
