This week's Horoscopes are coming out under a Sagittarius moon. By tomorrow morning, at about 9:30 a.m. in the East, and at around sunrise out here in the West, the moon will enter its Void-of-Course phase and stay in that mode, until she moves into Capricorn on Tuesday at around 3 p.m. on the East Coast, and right before Noon, in the Pacific Time zone. The better part of Tuesday will see us in the "Woo-Hoo; we're totally off the hook" state that overtakes us every time the Moon goes Void-of-Course.
Having just gone through "The Day Out of Time," whether we know it or not we have been reborn. Any issues, problems, and/or “stuff” that has yet to be dealt with, has been 86'd from the menu and we are literally off on a whole new track. With Lughnassah, or, the annual gathering of the clans, right around the corner, the next week or so will see us riding waves of creative energy that will be amplified by the full moon in Aquarius, on Sunday, Aug. 31.
Without boring you with the details, I am here to say that the Solar force is totally off the charts right now. The idea that we are approaching the fullness that comes right before the harvest, surrounded by the abundance that makes it impossible to ignore the life that fills our hearts and animates all of creation — all of this is there to remind us that there is a point in every cycle when we need to stop long enough to celebrate the fact that we are alive, and remember that “joy” is the attractive mechanism for everything in the universe.
It's interesting that the planet Venus, which by many is considered to be the "Headquarters" of our solar system, moved into her retrograde mode on "The Day Out of Time." As kooked out and woo-woo as this may sound to many of you, in my world, things like this are a huge deal.
If I were to analyze this phenomenon in a natal chart, I would tell the person that until a certain age, they are here to find out about what it means to establish a relationship with themselves; it is less important for them to be connected to others because they need to find out who “they” are before they can know for sure what, or who, to love.
When Venus turns retrograde by transit, the same rule applies to all of us. It is a time when it becomes important to go within and reconnect exclusively with who WE are, and what WE want — because these things change over time. Between now and Sept. 6, the way we conduct our relationships needs to be reviewed, relative to the nature of the relationship we currently wish to have with ourselves.
Venus will back track from the 1st degree of Virgo, to the 14th degree of Leo. Those of you who have Venus situated in that part of the Zodiac will be reconstructing your definition of your female aspect. This is something that all of us go through once every two-and-a-half years. It opens the space for us to stay abreast of where our hearts truly lie.
As for the rest of us? The rest of us will be reviewing things to see if what we "Think we want" has anything to do with what we "Really want," in love, and in every other area of our lives as well; like I said, these things change over time. I don't need to tell you that nothing stays that same — the evolutionary process relies upon our willingness to continually change and grow — keep that in mind as you enjoy this week's 'scopes.
ARIES (March 21-April 20): There's no such thing as too much of a good thing. Whatever's going on with you guys right now, it's happening in a big way. The energy for growth and expansion is so potent, it's enough to make anyone pregnant! The love child and the brain child are six-of-one-half-dozen-of-another, so the question is: What do you want to create? In the midst of all this incredible goodness you need to be sharp about not getting stuck and do your best to understand that your growth may require you to change more than your zip code. Are you up for what could be a whole new life?
TAURUS (April 21-May 20): Taking things personally and having your feathers ruffled is looking like a huge theme. The natural tendency to overanalyze everything is at an all-time high. You can find a million ways to justify your point of view but the more you talk about it, the more obvious it becomes that you blow things out of proportion. Finding ways to deal with what's true and what isn't has taught you a lot about how important it is to tell it to yourself. Others aren't out to get you, or hurt you, or do anything but speak their truth and pray that you love them enough to hear them out.
GEMINI (May 21-June 20): After a long stretch of limbo you are beginning to remember that there is more to life than whatever you've been engaged in. It's like the lid got blown off and you're ready for anything. If circumstances don't allow you space and time to fly away, you at least need to shake your schedule up enough to include activities that take you both "out of time" and out of the box. The daily chores can't be ignored. Within those structures it's up to you to figure out how to flow well enough to allow the magic that is inherent in everything to keep you floating on top of the world.
CANCER (June 21-July 20): You're about to get carried away. If you want this to flower into something meaningful, give it time to prove itself. This could also translate as: This is no time to be stubborn about the wrong things. Life may call you to reverse your direction in a heartbeat. Knowing when to keep going is as important as knowing when to stop, or turn around. Get your bearings and don't allow your "investments" to keep you from making the right move. At this point, you have to decide whether your instincts are more accurate than the part of you that needs to hang on no matter what.
LEO (July 21-Aug. 20): You are in the middle of something that promises to be a pivotal moment in your personal mythology. If it seems like nothing's going on, trust me, you will look back on this time as the point where your life finally got off the ground. After a long period of both trial and error, your experience has led you through the gauntlet and you're sailing into more certain waters. As triumph and success open the way to whatever you've been shooting for, don't let pride lead you to believe that you can't lose, or that this is all about anything but remaining true to yourself.
VIRGO (Aug. 21-Sept. 20): You're wondering if this was such a good idea. Rethinking your choices, it's a little too late to be wondering because you're already over your head. That being said, you can't go back now. And even if this looks a little shaky, you've got to figure out how to make it work because it's what you've chosen, for better or worse. You're not entirely comfortable living outside the box, and uncertainty drives you even crazier — but you've spent enough time in the safety zone to know one thing for sure: You had to do this — and it'll turn out fine because it's where your heart lies.
LIBRA (Sept. 21-Oct. 20): Maybe you jumped the gun. If this is getting to be too much, it might be a good idea to haul back and reconsider — or at least give yourself a little breathing room. Things we do in the heat of the moment rarely generate anything but a quick high and a lot of trouble. This could be one of those karmic things that's meant to teach you a huge lesson, but it could just as easily be you, acting out of desperation. You've been around the barn too many times to think that what you've got isn't a different version of the same old thing. Look around — if this is bliss why are you such a nervous wreck?
SCORPIO (Oct. 21-Nov. 20): Nobody wants you to go out of your way. They're more than aware of what you're dealing with so don't second guess their needs. For now, your energy needs to be spent getting your act together, or pulling your life together so that you can stand on your own two feet. Recent questions about where the money went, along with concerns over the possibility of a move have you wondering if it's time to sell out. That's totally up to you. You have enough intuition to see the writing on the wall. Getting it together could easily require a 180-degree turn.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 21-Dec. 20): You are so clear it's easy to assume that everyone does it the way you do. The world might be better off if we did, but who knows? You are learning so much about seeing things through other people's eyes and realizing that we are all doing our own version of crazy. Letting go and connecting with the part of your soul that knows real tolerance has brought so many amazing people into your life. More than ever, the more you cultivate your ability to appreciate the beauty in others, right along with their insanity, the more the next phase of your plan will take off.
CAPRICORN (Dec. 21-Jan. 20): Baby steps; whatever's going on, take it a little at a time. Slow progress in limited areas is where it's at right now, no matter what department of your life this might apply to. Timing is the key. What you hope for depends so much on how others respond to you. Don't push anything too hard or expect life to go along with your best laid plans. Lay low and be smart enough to watch and wait for this to develop. You've got enough patience to handle a few delays and any resistance you get from the outside world. In time you'll be glad you knew enough to stick this out.
AQUARIUS (Jan. 21-Feb. 20): The way things are going you'd think the whole world would fall apart if it weren't for you. If that's how it feels, it's time to haul back and give yourself a few days off. Cramped by the sense that what others need and keep expecting from you isn't something you can continue to supply, you're afraid that if you can't keep putting out, no one will love you. Your life would be a whole lot easier if you understood that your own expectations are the only thing you need to live up to. If you can separate what others want from what truly matters to you, you will totally lighten up.
PISCES (Feb. 21-March 20): It's mind blowing to think about what the last few weeks have done to rearrange your life. Your greatness of spirit is either at the top of its game, or you're floundering with the sense that you aren't going to make it. How things go depends so much on you it would be good if you could surround yourself with whatever it takes to feel empowered. This is no time to be letting yourself get sideswiped by fear, or doubt, or any of the people, places, and things that bring you down. Hold steady. Be strong in the knowledge that this is all about love, and it will prevail.
