D.I.A. NOW HIRING ARTISTS

See, art and money can co-exist!

We can't believe it either! Maybe this is a small sign of an economic upswing, who knows? Most artists I know aren't at all money hungry entrepreneurs. In fact, most could definitely use some cash to line their pockets. Seriously, as cheap as Black Label is, I'm tired of buyin' ...

But, these days, cash doth not flow so steadily 'round these parts. No new news there. Come to think of it, the Detroit Institute of Arts went through a period of layoffs and budget cuts not too long ago. So, to say we're inspired at the news they're in search of a few good artists is a bit of an understatement.

I just got word from a bird on the New Detroit Style forum that the Learning and Interpretation Department at the DIA is seeking applicants for a few part-time studio assistants and drawing instructor to facilitate drop-in workshops (pays $12/hr) and drawing instruction ($18/hr).

All the details are here!

Good luck!
