West Elm to open in Birmingham, featuring local companies

Cellar Door soaps will be featured at the new West Elm shop in Birmingham.
West Elm, sellers of trendy home goods, will open their first store in Michigan on Oct. 2 in downtown Birmingham. A company initiative to engage and collaborate with local entrepreneurs will result in several local companies being featured in the store. 

Products by Cellar Door, Jody Lynn Burton, Milled Co., Meant to Be Sent, War Paint Studio, Babylon Soap Company, Marcy Davy, Tenebras, Arthur’s Plaid Pants, and Revisions Design Studio will all be available in the 15,000 square foot store. The company also plans to honor the area's heritage by including permanent and temporary art installations that will reflect Michigan's history of manufacturing. 

The company will further honor its host city by offering a free limited edition Birmingham-inspired tote bag to the first 300 customers with who make a minimum $50 purchase.
