Stef Chura, who is a grunge-ish, rad, singer/songwriter/guitarist person, and whose very recent music video was shot in the UFO Factory, is playing there both tonight (opening for New Paltz-based duo Diet Cig) and tomorrow night, Feb. 12 (opening for your favorite local band, Growwing Pains, who sound like all of the '90s at once) with drummer Ryan Clancy and bassist Mack Partin. It's a two-day residency for the Stef Chura Band! Rejoice.
I asked her one question.
Metro Times: Your video was shot in the bathroom at UFO, and this week you play there twice; do you live there or something?
Stef Chura: What’s interesting is that… No, actually I don’t live there. But maybe I could live off of things like drink tickets and hot dogs if I keep up playing every show at UFO. Our primary goal is to play EVERY show at UFO every night and be the only act and to play all three sets. We’d like it if UFO renamed itself “Stef’s UFO Xperience” and if we could please get VIP parking.
Thank you.
