PROVE IT. JUST THE FACTS...

My introduction column seems to have induced a few fun online fireworks and flaming, with posters believing that I'll be incapable of doing this job. There were some especially interesting ones here at Webvomit.com, the blog of some anonymous but seemingly knowledgeable dude who's dubbed himself Jasper. This one, after I got involved, seemed to work out OK in the end, though. Still, with people throwing jabs and insults my way (hey, if you're going to compare me to Gary Graff, at least point out that I'm the handsome version of Mr. Graff), I'm still waiting for someone to take me up on my challenge of "prove it to me, Detroit" -- in other words, for someone to send me something that gets me starting to believe that the Motor City is as vital, musically, as it has been in the past. That's not an insult or a put down, folks; simply a challenge. I'll be here, eagerly awaiting your responses and suggestions and insults...
