The new single from Blaire Alise & the Bombshells, Run & Hide, will be released Thanksgiving Eve, November 27, at the Cadieux Café.
Prior to that, the band plays the New Dodge in Hamtramck with the Split Squad and Amy Gore & Her Valentines on November 23. A show with Gore is appropriate; both ladies take the classic girl-group sound and do their own thing with it. Gore adds grit, while Alise adds a contemporary, chirpy indie sound.
According to the press release, “Blaire Alise is a singer, songwriter and instrumentalist who has taken Detroit by storm with her rock n’ roll anthems and timeless girl group sound. Ann Delisi, host of WDET’s Essential Music, was interviewed on NPR’s World Café, an acclaimed radio show that highlights emerging artists to over a half-million listeners each week. In naming Blaire Alise & The Bombshells as one of Detroit’s five up-and-coming bands, Delisi described the band as exciting to watch and ‘one of the most driven artists [she] has come across in a long time’ with a sound ‘much older than her years’.”
