Chamber Music at the Scarab Club continues its 21st season with a truly international concert in the warm
and intimate main gallery of Detroit’s historic Scarab Club. The program features music for bassoon and
strings in various combinations. MOT principal bassoonist Francisco Delgado will perform with string trio
in a work by American composer Bernard Garfield, the principal bassoonist of the Philadelphia Orchestra
from 1957 until 2000! Enjoy an exhilarating string quartet titled Time and Fate by Russian Canadian
composer Airat Ichmouratov, a violin and cello duo by Argentinian composer Adriana Figueroa Mañas and
Equinox, a string quartet by another Canadian, Elizabeth Knudson. The performers include violinists Laura
Roelofs and Velda Kelly, violist Romona Merritt and cellist Nadine Deleury.
As always, each piece will be introduced by one of the musicians and the concert will be followed by a
delicious and friendly reception.
