Irish 1916 Easter Rising

Though the Rising itself did not succeed, it led to freedom for most, but not all, of Ireland. On Saturday, April 9, the 1916 Detroit Commemoration Committee observes the 100th anniversary of the Easter Rising. You will hear Irish songs and stories as well as learn through several workshops that will include the following topics: the Women's role in the Rising, the Detroit Connection and how diversity built a strong bond between the leaders.
