Now, the Birmingham-based company will expand it's offerings, bringing into the fold their very own local record label called Decibel.
Hoping to focus on up-and-coming artists, the company plans on releasing the albums of Keri Lynn Roche, F. Patrick James, Beth Stalker, and Red Eye Fly by the end of the year. Detroit Music Award winner Bryan Reilly is currently working on James' record, an album that promises a blues-and-folk-inspired sound with a rock edge.
While the first of Decibel's roster was hand-picked, local artists will be able to submit their music via the RMS website as a means to become part of the team.
According to owner and president Randy Stephenson, the label's amenities will include development, management, recoding, mixing and distribution. Access to world-class studios and top-notch producers and engineers will be added value for artists looking to become a part of the Decibel family.
Capitalizing on the "gritty" nature of Detroit, Stephenson and Reilly have both noted that they feel the label's future is "bright and promising, much like Detroit – tough and resilient."
