The Motown Museum will celebrate its late founder Esther Gordy Edwards, sister of Motown founder Berry Gordy, on Wednesday.

The celebration includes food, half-off admission, and musical performances by Dennis Coffey, Kern Brantley, and Dennis Bowles, son of the late Motown saxophonist Thomas "Beans" Bowles.

During her career, Edwards, served as manager of the Motortown Revue in the early 1960s and later as Motown's vice president and chief executive officer. She founded the museum in 1985 and died in 2011, and would have celebrated her 98th birthday on Wednesday.

The Motown Museum is located at 2648 W. Grand Blvd., Detroit; 313-875-2264; motownmuseum.org. Festivities run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
