No stranger to Detroit, the Stanley Cup will once again return to the Motor City this weekend — but that's no thanks to the Red Wings. (Let's face it, the team isn't what it used to be. We still love them, though.)
The trophy is visiting as part of a traveling exhibition in honor of the National Hockey League's centennial celebration. It'll be in Detroit from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2 and Sunday, Dec. 3 at a parking lot located at 2130 Cass Ave. near Little Caesars Arena.
And yes — you can get your picture taken with the coveted cup. Photos are from noon to 5 p.m. The exhibition is free and open to the public.
Red Wings alumni will also be on hand to sign autographs and give lessons in an outdoor ball hockey rink. The event will also feature an NHL "museum truck," a used hockey gear donation, a DJ, and more.
