There are two-holiday camps: Those who think Home Alone is the quintessential Christmas movie and those who say the title goes to A Christmas Story. (And then there are those who argue Die Hard is a Christmas movie. It is.)

Well, attention, all you filthy, bb gun-wielding animals — the Redford Theatre is serving up the battle of the Christmas classics. First up is Home Alone, the film that couldn’t possibly happen in 2018 because of cell phones, in which Kevin McCallister is forgotten by his shitty family. Then, there’s Ralphie Parker of A Christmas Story, whose only goal is to get his hands on a Red Ryder air rifle — basically the American dream. There will also be a canned food drive.

'Home Alone' screening begins at 2 p.m., 'A Christmas Story' screening begins at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8 at the Redford Theatre; 17360 Lahser Rd., Detroit; 313-537-2560; redfordtheatre.com; Ticket per film is $5.
