Tomorrow night, Thursday, May 29, the Greening of Detroit will host a free backyard aquaponics workshop.
Aquaponics is a food production method that encourages the growth and nurturing of both plants and aquatic animals like snails, crayfish, and prawns in the same system, recirculating nutrients in a symbiotic environment which benefits both the plants and animals. The method is gaining popularity because of its sustainability and general environmental friendliness.
The workshop is free and open to the public.
