Brian “Head” Welch of Korn Recruits Millennials in New Christian Documentary

As really the only mainstream mouthpiece for Christianity in the mainstream metal scene, Korn lead guitarist Brian “Head” Welch has been outspoken about his faith- and how it helped him kick his addictions- for years. His latest pulpit, if you will, is the Christian documentary Holy Ghost, which premieres tomorrow. At the premiere, Head will not only introduce the film, but he will also perform with Christian band Jake Hamilton & the Sound.

Holy Ghost is the unscripted document of director Darren Wilson’s attempt to capture actual occurrences of divine healing, miracles, and things that just make you scratch your head, in a way that is intended to attract millennials. The film weaves through stories and interviews at a swift pace, detailing spiritual experiences across the globe.

The film also features appearances and interviews with acclaimed Christian music artist Michael W. Smith, Lenny Kravitz and Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu- also of the band Korn- as well as various religious figures, who explain how faith influences their work and recall their own miraculous experiences.

One thing that is very impressive about Holy Ghost is the funding campaign that took place on Kickstarter. Raising $360,000 in only forty-five days makes it the number one faith-based documentary – and number two documentary overall- ever to be crowd funded on Kickstarter.

As part of the grassroots marketing campaign, churches all over the country will be hosting screenings for their patrons. The Holy Ghost Premiere Experience, taking place at the Redding Civic Center in Redding, CA, will be streamed live online. Any interested party with an internet connection will be able to tune in for free, Saturday, September 6th, at 2p.m. EST.
