'I Need That Record!' (You need to watch this)

Somehow I missed this film the first time around. But If you give a shit about music at all, you need to watch it.  I Need That Record! is an incredibly well-done feature doc about the death of the record store, but also how the music industry and radio ruined music for so long for so many people.  Creator Brendan Toller used of lots of empathy here, as well as hard facts, to tell the story and talking heads include include Chris Frantz from the Talking Heads, Lenny Kaye, Thurston Moore, Noam ChomskyGlenn Branca and various articulate record store owners from around the country.

(Look closely in the beginning and you can spot Metro Times photographer Doug Coombe behind the counter at Encore Recordings in Ann Arbor.

Thanks to Warren Westfall, owner of the Record Collector in Ferndale, for sending this along.
