How about a nice cold glass of unidentified kidney? How about a liver? In regard to the incident over the weekend at a Detroit water treatment facility, we might have to wait a while to know more.

Detroit police responded to a call from a wastewater treatment plant on Friday, Dec. 15 after reports of a mysterious organ appeared. A second call was made after a similar discovery occurred on Saturday, Dec. 16.

A representative from the Wayne County medical examiner's office told Metro Times that they have yet to conclude whether the organs are human or animal, and could take several weeks to determine the origins of the tissues.

Michelle A. Zdrodowski, a spokeswoman for the Great Lakes Water Authority, told The Detroit News that this finding "does not affect the water treatment process."

The water authority could not be reached for further comments.
