The home of the Cosmik fries will make its grand return to Royal Oak in a new location.

According to Crain's Detroit, the new location will merge the space at 420 Main St. and 430 Main St., the former location of bd's Mongolian Grill and Noodles World Kitchen.

HopCat closed its Royal Oak location in May 2020 following a dispute with the landlord who, according to HopCat owners at the time, demanded they vacate the building.

In June 2020, HopCat's parent company, BarFly Ventures, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and was eventually sold to Congruent Investment Partners and Main Street Capital for $17.5 million.

HopCat's original Royal Oak location will house Pastiao, an Italian restaurant slated to open this year.
