Dan Sartain
Dudesblood
One Little Indian

What the fuck is going on here? We thought we had Sartain nailed down as a rockabilly dude from Alabama with equal love for the Ramones and Chris Isaak. The drum machine beat and synth riff in the first two seconds of Dudesblood changes all that. Later, Sartain recruits X drummer D.J. Bonebrake to play marimba on a cover of Swedish electronic duo the Knife’s “Pass This On” and adopts a fake British accent on the hilarious “Smash the Tesco.” This album’s all over the place, and it often doesn’t work — but when it does it’s undeniably fun.
