Giordano's is now open in the downtown space that used to house Bagger Dave's, which closed in 2015.

The Detroit News reports that the restaurant, at 1224 Randolph St., is taking walk in orders for dinner, and plans to be up and running with lunch and dinner service in the next two weeks.

The Detroit location is Giordano's second in Michigan and 16th across the nation. The other Michigan store is in Holland. Detroiters who have dined at PizzaPapalis will be familiar with Chicago-style deep dish. More information is available at giordanos.com.

Giordano's has been named Chicago's best pizzeria by outlets like NBC, CBS Chicago, the New York Times, Chicago Magazine, Chicago Tribune, Chicago Eater, Home & Garden Magazine and more.

It's also the latest in a string of 2017 downtown-area pizzeria openings. POP + Offworld arcade is now offering stoner pies; La Lanterna tosses northern Italian pizza; PizzaPlex is up and running in Southwest Detroit; and Brass Rail opened in Grand Circus Park.
