All summer long, Michigan turns into a playground for its residents. On water and land, from Detroit to the dunes and beyond, we hit the cabins and the canoes, go hiking and biking, and ramble around on both peninsulas. Autumn, however, usually finds us back on our home turf, ready to reap a fall harvest of hoopla, given the area’s wealth of hootenannies.

It’s festival season, and there’s something for everybody. Whether you seek beer or barbecue, blues or jazz or rock, art or apples, or even cows or cosplay, this is the season with the shindig for you. We hope our special Festival Guide helps you find whatever floats your boat.
